Coca Cola to invest Rs 1,000 crore in second factory in Telangana

HYDERABAD: FMCG major Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages is setting up its second factory in Telangana at the Bandathimmapur Food Processing Park in Siddipet district at an investment of Rs 600 crore in the first phase. HCCB already has a facility at Ameenpur in Telangana.
The digitally enabled and automated smart factory will be coming up on a nearly 49-acre land parcel allotted by Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC) and is expected to be ready for commercial production by 2023 end.
The factory will manufacture juices, enhanced water, packaged water and sparkling beverages. The facility will be drawing water from the Kaleshwaram project for its requirements.
Apart from the Rs 600 crore that HCCB will invest phase-1 of the new facility, it will also be pumping in another Rs 400 crore subsequently over the next 4-5 years to take the total investment in the plant to Rs 1,000 crore, said Telangana industries minister KT Rama Rao on Thursday.
HCCB also inked an MoU with the Telangana government to enter into a long term strategic partnership for capacity building in water conservation and management by industry, solid waste management and skill development to boost employment. To start with HCCB will work with the Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge to impart skill training to over 10,000 youth over the next two years.
